Mrs Me works in human services.
Many of her clients have strange names. For example, some had names based on nature, like Cloud or Skye, and one collection of half-siblings were named after various motorcycles.
So when a woman came in and gave her daughter's name as "Wivonnie", no eyebrows were raised, but she was asked to spell it. The woman rolled her eyes, sighed and complied:" Y-V-O-N-N-E"
The woman couldn't pronounce her own kid's name!
Please, if the opportunity arises to have some input in naming a child. Please don't condemn them to spelling it out every day of their life.
