One of my young relatives said to me once that clearly the bible creation story was true, as all of the elements in the human body were in the earth's crust. The next step to the argument is to say that clearly god made us out of dust so we are composed of the same stuff. I didn't jump on the point, but should have. This is obviously something that was taught her as a response or shoring up her beliefs. What would they expect us to be made of? We make our bodies from things we eat. Everything we eat comes from sunlight and dirt. Of course we will be made of the matter in the earth. If we were made of some of the more exotic, none natural and unstable elements at the end of the periodic table, then we would have a miracle!
