Tonight I am going to tell you about my friend Lou. He isn't a FaceBook friend, he is one of those friends you see in person, like in the old days.
Lou lives on an island here in Moreton Bay. And it was on this little island that Lou had a very eventful Sunday. At that time another friend of ours, Peter, lived on the other side of the same island.
It is common for islanders to keep two cars, (they get remote area discounts on registration.) One good car on the mainland, and another junker on the island.
This particular Sunday was much the same as others except that as Peter's car was being repaired and so Lou lent him his junker and ferried his good car to the island. After he read the Sunday papers Lou decided to visit Peter. That would have been fine except that Peter had the same idea. As they turned a sharp bend at speed, they collided with each other. Lou must be the only person in the world who has had a head on collision with his own car.
